After several years of welcoming guests to Les Hauts d’Aïnhoa, the time has come for us to take a little break.
Bookings are now paused while we think about the next stage of the house and prepare for a few changes in the future. The work has not yet begun, so we don’t want to reveal too much — or make promises too soon — but we hope to be able to welcome guests again in spring 2027.
One thing, however, will not change: what we love about this place.
Aïnhoa, the mountains surrounding the house, walks you can reach straight from the door, the villages of the French Basque Country, the ocean nearby, wonderful food, local markets, producers and all the small discoveries that make this part of the world so special.
During this pause, the Les Hauts d’Aïnhoa website will be evolving too. We’ll continue to share our favourite places, ideas for walks and days out, good places to eat, and a few stories about the house and its surroundings.
Because Les Hauts d’Aïnhoa is more than somewhere to stay. It is an old house overlooking the village, a landscape that changes with the seasons, a historic lime kiln hidden in the garden, and, above all, a wonderful starting point for exploring the part of the Basque Country we love so much.
We’re very grateful to everyone who has chosen to stay here over the years, including those who have returned more than once. It will be a real pleasure to share what comes next when the time is right.
See you soon for a new chapter at Les Hauts d’Aïnhoa.
