Les Hauts d’Ainhoa sits above the village, in the heart of the French Basque Country, in a peaceful setting surrounded by forest and hills. Paths lead directly from the house into the countryside around Ainhoa, while Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Biarritz and the Basque coast are all within easy reach. For several years, part of the house welcomed guests in an independent studio. Today, Les Hauts d’Ainhoa is evolving to offer a new way to stay in this old Basque house.

A new chapter

The house is currently closed to guests while it undergoes a period of transformation. The project is preserving what gives this place its character — stone, old beams, its relationship with the mountains and its sense of calm — while rethinking the spaces for future stays. We plan to reopen in spring 2027.

Stay in Ainhoa

Ainhoa is one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France and an ideal base for exploring the French Basque Country. Walks from the village, markets and excellent places to eat, the nearby villages of Sare and Espelette, the Pyrenees and the beaches of the Basque coast are all within easy reach.
